Welcome to Neatify ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our application works.

This Privacy Policy explains how Neatify, a macOS file organization application, handles information when you use our app and visit our website (neatifyhq.com).

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Neatify is designed with privacy as a core principle. We want to be clear about what we do not collect:

  • No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally identifiable information.
  • No Account Required: Neatify does not require registration, login, or account creation.
  • No File Content Access: We do not read, access, or transmit the contents of your files.
  • No Device Tracking: We do not collect information about your Mac hardware, serial numbers, or unique device identifiers.
  • No Location Data: We do not collect or track your geographic location.
  • No Payment Information: All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store, and we never have access to your payment card details.

3. How Neatify Works Locally

Neatify operates entirely on your local Mac and does not communicate with any external servers or cloud services.

File Access

  • Neatify accesses only file metadata (file extension, creation date, and file system location) to organize your files.
  • The app requires permission to access specific folders (Downloads, Desktop, or folders you explicitly grant access to) through macOS's standard permission system (NSOpenPanel).
  • You can revoke these permissions at any time through Neatify's settings.

Local Data Storage

  • All your projects, sorting rules, and configurations are stored locally on your device using CoreData.
  • This data includes folder paths and names, which may contain your macOS username (e.g., /Users/YourName/Documents/).
  • This information never leaves your device and is not synchronized via iCloud or any cloud service.

4. Optional Feedback System

To improve Neatify, we offer an optional in-app feedback system.

When It Appears

  • After 30 minutes of app usage or when closing the app.
  • At most once every 24 hours.
  • You can always skip or dismiss the prompt.

What We Collect (Only If You Choose to Provide Feedback)

When you voluntarily submit feedback through our Google Form, we may receive:

  • Star rating (1–5 stars)
  • Optional text feedback
  • App version number
  • Skip status

Important Notes

  • Google Forms may automatically collect your IP address and technical metadata.
  • If you are logged into a Google account, Google may associate the form submission with your account.
  • Any personal information you voluntarily include (e.g., your name) will be visible to us.
  • This data is used solely to improve Neatify and is never shared externally.
  • The legal basis for processing feedback is your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time by contacting support@neatifyhq.com.

5. Website Analytics (neatifyhq.com)

Our website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our site. Analytics cookies are only activated after you provide explicit consent through our cookie banner.

What Google Analytics Collects

  • Pages visited and time spent on pages
  • Click events (e.g., button clicks, video plays)
  • General device and browser information
  • Approximate geographic location (country/city level)
  • Referral sources (where visitors come from)

Data Protection and Consent

  • IP anonymization is enabled in Google Analytics 4.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner or your browser settings.
  • You can also opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or using privacy-focused browsers.

7. Third-Party Services

Apple App Store

Data related to app downloads, purchases, and crash reports (if enabled) are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We only receive anonymized or aggregated data.

Google Forms

Optional feedback submissions are processed by Google as a data processor under a data processing agreement compliant with Article 28 GDPR.

Google Analytics

Website analytics data is processed under Google's Privacy Policy and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (2023). Standard Contractual Clauses apply where required.

We do not share data with any other third parties.

8. Data Security

  • All feedback submissions are transmitted via encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • Access to feedback data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
  • Local app data is protected by macOS security mechanisms.

9. International Data Transfers

For users in the EU/EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland:

  • All local app data remains on your device.
  • Optional feedback and analytics data may be processed by Google in the United States.
  • Google LLC participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (2023), and Standard Contractual Clauses are used where necessary.

10. Children's Privacy

Neatify is rated 4+ and not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA).

12. Data Retention

  • Feedback data: Retained only as long as necessary for product improvement, unless deletion is requested.
  • Analytics data: Retained per Google's default policy (14–26 months).
  • Local app data: Remains on your device until you uninstall Neatify or delete it manually.

We retain data only as long as necessary to fulfill the stated purposes or as required by law.

13. Future Features

We may introduce AI-powered file organization in future updates.

If implemented, we will:

  • Clearly disclose any new data processing involved
  • Request explicit consent before activation
  • Ensure no retroactive data collection occurs
